- ➤ Brickers Foundation was founded by Ericson Brickers in 2019 to help small nonprofits gain exposure and build skills like financial literacy and tech training — it is now recruiting volunteers and forging partnerships with community groups around Hampton Roads. 13 News Now
- ➤ The Geminid meteor shower will peak Saturday night into early Sunday morning with up to 150 meteors per hour lighting up Hampton Roads skies. Viewers should head inland for the clearest view (no telescope needed). 13 News Now

- ➤ Virginia recorded more snow than major Northeast cities in early December; National Weather Service data through Dec. 9 showed up to 8 inches in parts of the Commonwealth as timely cold air kick-started winter. 13 News Now
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Virginia will remove sweetened beverages from SNAP eligibility after the USDA approved a state waiver. The rule will take effect on April 1 and Governor Youngkin praised the change for promoting healthier eating as Gov.-elect Spanberger's team has yet to comment. WTKR
