- ➤ The Hello Sunshine program in Hampton will pair seniors and young adults to ease loneliness, beginning Dec. 8 with four weeks of daily text check-ins and Saturday group activities. The initiative was proposed by Jocelyn Scott and partners with The Healthy Living Center to build a stronger local connection. WTKR
- ➤ Santa Claus will fly in a Sikorsky MH-60S with the Fleet Angels escort today from 10 a.m. to noon, taking off from Norfolk Naval Base and passing local landmarks like Town Point Park and Patrick Henry Mall. WTKR
ECONOMY NEWS
- ➤ Dominion Energy will raise monthly bills by about $11 starting in January, and it offers help programs such as an energy share plan that can provide up to $600 for those facing financial stress. Local residents can also adjust energy use — small changes may add up to big savings. WTKR

- ➤ The Navy announced that it will study the environmental effects of transitioning to F-35C squadrons at NAS Oceana and is accepting public comments from Dec. 5 to Jan. 4. The review will guide facility updates and other changes for up to 70 new aircraft beginning in 2028. 13 News Now
