- ➤ Pharrell Williams supports a food drive planned for Sunday, Nov. 23 at 118 W. Bute Street in Norfolk from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. as Team YELLOW will collect non-perishable food and essentials for families impacted by SNAP cuts—he said he loves Virginia and is determined to help local residents. WAVY
- ➤ On Veterans Day, local veterans found peace on the water with help from the Freedom Boat Club. Owner Andy Sutter and retired Coast Guard member Ronald Rivera said calm time on the water eased stress—helping them focus on what matters. WAVY
- ➤ Veterans were honored on Veterans Day at ceremonies in Norfolk and Chesapeake—events that remembered their service. In Norfolk, a wreath was laid at the tomb of General Douglas MacArthur and Jean MacArthur, and in Chesapeake, city leaders spoke to over 100 people with Gold Star mothers present—paying tribute to those who served. - ➤ ASAP offers free comedy and creative classes for military families and veterans to build new skills and confidence—retired Navy veteran Charles Hart praised the program for its professional approach. - ➤ Local nonprofit Black BRAND marks its 10 year anniversary by honoring three trailblazing Black women—Charvalla West, Tiffany Richardson-Harrell, and Mayor Jessie M.
