- ➤ Owner JB Akers converted an old trailer into an 85-square-foot mobile bookstore—Dead Petals Press—equipped with wood flooring, mood lighting, and purple shelves that hold books by independent and local authors. - ➤ Another View was broadcast live from Fort Monroe African American Landing Memorial Plaza in Hampton as work began on a new memorial, with plans taking shape after years of study and planning. Historians Christy S. Coleman and Eola Lewis Dance and architect Burt Pinnock joined host Barbara Hamm Lee to show how Black people helped shape US history as part of the VA 250 celebration. - ➤ Old Dominion University is hosting its 5th annual Public Arts Festival—BUBBLE FEST—this weekend with a giant bubble display by Australian design studio Atelier Sisu.
