🌲 Environment
The Virginia Peninsula Public Service Authority ended its contract with Tidewater Fibre Corporation today, stopping curbside recycling in James City and York counties because the company skipped pickups, spilled recycling, and damaged property.
Local governments are using temporary measures — York is converting recyclables to trash until Oct. 31, James City is offering drop-off sites, Poquoson has an emergency contract, and Williamsburg remains unaffected — while working on a long-term solution.
