- ➤ A study by researchers from the Batten School of Coastal and Marine Sciences and VIMS shows that eelgrass is declining in Chesapeake Bay—due to rising summer temperatures and reduced water clarity—and widgeon grass is spreading, a shift that could harm blue crab habitat. WAVY
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Tomorrow the City Council will meet at the Hampton Roads Convention Center for a special session on urban planning and placemaking with the School Board, Planning Commission, Economic Development Authority and Redevelopment and Housing Authority presenting at 10 a.m.—a closed session to discuss committee appointments and property issues will follow at 2 p.m. and a legislative session with a public hearing on the Community Development Block Grant report will take place in City Hall at 6:30 p.m. City of Hampton
