- ➤ Students at Kecoughtan High School were evacuated Friday morning after a firearm and a suspicious package were found on campus; school security confiscated the weapon from a student—who will face disciplinary actions and charges—and law enforcement responded as students were taken to the Hampton Convention Center for reunification. - ➤ Seven Hampton Roads cities are offering tools to help families prepare for disasters during National Preparedness Month. Virginia Beach launched its ReadyVB campaign while Hampton and others provide alert systems and downloadable templates — tools meant to guide residents in assembling emergency kits and responding to flooding risks.
