GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Motorists on I-64 west in Hampton should expect overnight full directional lane closures for overhead sign installations on Sept. 3 and 4 by VDOT—closures may extend to Sept. 5 if needed. Single-lane restrictions may begin at 10 p.m. on Sept. 2 and 3, and detours are in place for access from Settlers Landing Road/Woodland Road via Woodland Road, East Mercury Boulevard, Old Buckroe Road, and North Armistead Avenue. 13 News Now
- ➤ Admiral Daryl Caudle held an all-hands call on Thursday aboard the USS Harry S—Truman at Naval Station Norfolk where he discussed challenges such as shipbuilding, ordinance production, and improving conditions for sailors. During the call, sailors asked about healthcare, barracks conditions, and mental health, and Caudle said he will put sailors first as he works to boost naval readiness. WAVY
