CRIME NEWS

  • Hampton police said a French bulldog named Macho was stolen at gunpoint during a walk on Wednesday at about 5:30 p.m.—three suspects took the dog, with Jalyle Lee arrested and police still working to find the missing pet.  WTKR

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • A Congressional Budget Office report says that new SNAP rules may cut benefits for millions as the eligibility age for able-bodied adults changes from 54 to 64 and veteran work rule exclusions are removed. Governor Youngkin said if Virginia's error rate stays above 6% later, the state will pay up to 15% of SNAP costs — a change that could take about $270 million from the general fund.  13 News Now
  • On Thursday morning, Sailors and Marines with the Iwo Jima Amphibious Ready Group (ARG) deployed from Naval Station Norfolk with nearly 4,500 servicemembers aboard USS San Antonio and USS Fort Lauderdale as part of Amphibious Squadron 8; 10 On Your Side provided updates.  WAVY
