Good morning, Hampton.

Teen Thursdays began at Buckroe Beach with a silent disco held for local youth after past beach takeovers; city officials said the free event will expand with a pop-up skating rink in July and another silent disco in August — police and Shoreline Operation Station will ensure safety.

Tune in today on WHRV from 10-12 as The Best of Pickin airs new Americana releases from Newfound Road, Kody Norris & others.

Norris has released a new cd, 'Spirit of America,' just in time for the upcoming 250th anniversary celebration of American Independence.

Hampton’s Youth and Young Adult Opportunities and Parks, Recreation and Leisure Services launched a summer engagement initiative on June 25 that offers free activities for teens (ages 12-17).

The program includes Teen Thursdays at Buckroe Beach with silent discos and additional events at local centers.
