  • USS Gravely returned home Monday after a 90-day deployment that included a border mission using an embedded Coast Guard team—its 330 sailors seized 840 pounds of cocaine in the Caribbean—and now remains ready for maritime homeland defense tasks.  WHRO Public Media
  • Tomorrow at City Hall, the City Council will hold a 1 p.m. work session and a 6:30 p.m. legislative session to vote on dissolving the Peninsula Stadium Authority+forming a new War Memorial Stadium Advisory Board to recommend improvements to the baseball stadium on Pembroke Avenue. Council members will also consider an ordinance to make camping and storage on public property illegal+and present updates on local projects and digital infrastructure initiatives.  City of Hampton
  • The Army Transportation Museum at Joint Base Langley-Eustis may soon close as plans call for its artifacts to be moved to a new Sustainment Museum at Fort Gregg Adams. Army curators will begin planning transfers in the next two years+ the new facility will offer improved staffing and access.  WAVY

  • Babesiosis—a rare tick illness that acts like malaria—has slowly spread in Virginia with 44 confirmed cases since 2016 and two reported deaths, though most ticks in Hampton Roads are a type that does not spread the disease.  WHRO Public Media
