- ➤ Virginia State Police reported that seven people died in car crashes over Memorial Day weekend, including one in Chesapeake at about 7:45 a.m. on Saturday when an SUV hit a truck and one in Virginia Beach, a count that is lower than in past years. 13 News Now
- ➤ An overturned tractor trailer spilled hazardous materials on I-664 at the southbound 26th (and 27th) Street ramp in Newport News on May 29, and authorities closed the ramp as Virginia State Police investigated the incident. WAVY
