- ➤ Hampton Police are searching for Eric T. Jones, Jr. in connection with the fatal crash on West Mercury Boulevard and Martha Lee Drive on April 8 that killed 73-year-old Lucille McPherson—officers say two vehicles were racing, and 32-year-old Ajani Wiggins was arrested for related charges. WAVY
- ➤ A man was seriously injured after a shooting on Libby Street yesterday at 12:19 p.m. when officers found him with life-threatening gunshot wounds + he was taken to a local hospital + detectives are investigating the case. WTKR
- ➤ Two Navy SEALs at Joint Base Little Creek-Fort Story are facing non-judicial punishment for sharing racist memes that depicted a Black sailor as a slave—images that circulated in their team chat. An investigation by Naval Special Warfare Group 2 found that platoon leaders failed to address repeated complaints, leading to the sailor’s qualifications being revoked—a decision now being reversed with his status reinstated and back pay ordered.
