- ➤ City of Hampton will host a ribbon cutting tomorrow from 4-6 p.m. on the newly pedestrian-friendly E. Queens Way between Wine St. and S. King St. to unveil an outdoor space upgraded with water and sewer improvements — officials expect the area to boost foot traffic for local businesses. WTKR

- ➤ The Metropolitan Opera will broadcast Donizetti’s La fille du Régiment this Saturday, May 9, at 1 p.m. on WHRO-FM 90.3 and online. The production features soprano Erin Morley, tenor Lawrence Brownlee, and a cameo by Sandra Oh. WHRO Public Media

- ➤ Nearly 2,000 seniors celebrated College Commitment Day at Chartway Arena Tuesday as they were recognized for college admissions and awarded nearly $80,000 in scholarships (part of over $1 million in total awards).
