Hampton Fire and Rescue crews responded to a fire at the city’s landfill on North Park Ln just before 5 p.m. on Apr 27 as local witnesses reported a plume of black smoke and Battalion Chief Anthony Chittum said no structures or people were in danger + no evacuations were needed.

Hampton Police Division is investigating a shooting in the 100 block of Woodland Road — one adult male suffered life-threatening injuries and was taken to a hospital as officers continue their investigation.

A man was shot Sunday night on the 100 block of Woodland Road—near Phoebus Memorial Cemetery—and remains hospitalized with life-threatening injuries.

Officers responded to a call on the 100 block of Woodland Road at 10:40 p.m. Sunday, finding a man with multiple gunshot wounds who was transported to the hospital where he later died—no suspect has been named.
