- ➤ A former deputy and her husband were sentenced for animal cruelty after investigators found eight pit bulls in poor condition on Ireland Street in July 2023—Michael received a one-year active sentence while Carolyn’s sentence was suspended. 13 News Now
- ➤ A man was seriously wounded Saturday night in Hampton after a suspect approached his vehicle on Weymouth Terrace and fired multiple shots at about 9:25 p.m.—he was taken to a local hospital while police investigate the case. WAVY
- ➤ Hampton Police arrested a suspect on Saturday night after a stabbing on the 1st block of West Pembroke Avenue — the victim remains in stable condition. WAVY

- ➤ Sea turtles are returning to local waters as the fishing season begins, which makes them more likely to be hooked by lines. If you hook a sea turtle, notify the pier attendant and call the Virginia Aquarium’s Stranding Response Team at 757-385-7575, then use a net to bring the turtle to safety—do not remove the hook. 13 News Now
