  • A man suffered multiple gunshot wounds in a suspected drive-by shooting early Wednesday morning near the 2000 block of Cunningham Drive—police said he was found on the 1000 block of West Mercury Boulevard and taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.  WTKR
  • A man was shot in a drive-by shooting early Wednesday on the 2000 block of Enfield Drive in Hampton when someone fired at his car shortly after 1:30 a.m.—police took him to the hospital while detectives looked into the incident.  13 News Now
  • A person was detained after a reported road rage incident in York County when a male was shot in the Piccadilly Loop area (Grafton neighborhood) just after 2 p.m. on April 9; the injured man was taken to the hospital.  WTKR

EDUCATION NEWS

  • The Virginia Living Museum received a $99,947 grant from The Blocker Foundation to launch an immersive wildlife education initiative at its new Wild Care Center — a program that will offer hands-on STEM lessons to underserved students. It will partner with Newport News Public Schools to roll out middle school lessons in fall and high school courses in spring.  The Hampton Roads Messenger
