  • Yesterday at 9 p.m., Raymond Jones hosted 'A Local Touch — Music with A Virginia Connection' on WHRO-FM 90.3 featuring live recordings of Rachmaninoff’s piano concertos by Olga Kern with the Virginia Symphony Orchestra. The program — supported by The Goode Family Foundation — previewed additional recordings of Spanish Renaissance music and tributes to cellist Alberto Lysy while noting that in two weeks the Los Angeles Guitar Quartet will perform in Hampton Roads.  WHRO Public Media

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Carnival Cruise Line announced it will offer its Fun-ternship Program for rising high school juniors and seniors in Norfolk to give them paid work experience at cruise terminal operations—students will also get a cruise ship tour and lunch and learn sessions. The six‑week internship runs from June 21 to August 2 and applications remain open until May 1.  WAVY

  • U.S. Army veteran Valerie Jackson had her mammogram appointment canceled at Hampton VA Medical Center due to Department of Veterans Affairs cutbacks — she later received the screening that discovered cysts in her right breast and now plans surgery to address her condition.  WTKR
  • Bon Secours reached a multi-year insurance agreement with Cigna on Tuesday that keeps all its doctor offices, hospitals, urgent care centers, surgical centers and other care sites in-network—ensuring patients do not face a lapse in coverage.  13 News Now
