Good morning, Hampton.

The old Red Roof Inn near Coliseum Dr. and Mercury Blvd is being demolished to open nearly 10 acres for redevelopment under the Coliseum Central Master Plan (including plans for housing and businesses) that may boost local jobs and amenities.

Raymond Jones will host a three-hour radio program of new classical recordings on WHRO-FM 90.3 and online Saturday at 8:00 p.m. The broadcast features remastered Handel along with works by Fauré, Sibelius, and Brahms.

City officials won a $558K grant (with $62K city funds) to study climate risks at 32 school facilities and will design community resilience hubs for extreme weather on select sites.

The project is part of Resilient Hampton to update safety and long-term planning.
